In a world where going to the gym or health club means waiting in line to use machines or getting lost in a large group class, personal training attention can be the difference in maintaining life-long health and well being. As your fitness trainer, I offer you over 25 years experience in physical fitness and somatic education. I provide both individual and small-group training that not only delivers unparalleled levels of fitness and physical capabilities to all types of people, but is fun too!

Meeting You at Your Fitness Level

I pride myself on developing fitness regimes for people of all levels, from elite athletes to grandmothers and everyone in between. We値l begin by assessing your overall current state of health. From there, we値l create attainable goals and set benchmarks to evaluate your progress. If along the way your goals change, then we値l make the necessary modifications and continue to move forward.

Training Philosophy

My fitness philosophy is firmly grounded in CrossFit training principles (www.crossfit.com) therefore sessions will be designed to optimize physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains:

  • Endurance - The ability of body systems to gather, process, and deliver oxygen (cardiovascular/respiratory endurance).
  • Stamina - The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, and utilize energy (capacity to maintain repetitive muscular movements).
  • Strength - The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.
  • Flexibility - the ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint.
  • Power - The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.
  • Speed - The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement. ?Coordination - The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a single distinct movement.
  • Agility - The ability to minimize transition time from one movement pattern to another.
  • Balance - The ability to control the placement of the body痴 center of gravity in relation to its support base.
  • Accuracy - The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity.

Key to this core strength and conditioning program is integrating functional movements with a variety of training stimuli. Why functional movements? Because functional movements, mimic motor recruitment patterns that are found in everyday life therefore are mechanically sound and, thus, safe. Why a variety of training stimuli? Not only does variation in training elicit the optimal physiological responses and greatly reduce the potential for overuse injuries, but it also keeps training fun! No two training sessions will be alike. However each workout will include supervised stretching, instruction of proper exercise form followed by a 30-minute interval training. You値l be surprised in how quickly you値l begin to see changes.
