This course offers a systematic approach for responding effectively to any emergency and how to triage injuries and illnesses. The class includes procedures for head and neck injures, traumatic injuries such as bleeding, breaks, fractures, sprains, seizures, diabetic emergencies, burns, and serious medical emergencies. Each participant will have an opportunity to apply the skills learned in the class in a role-play scenario.
The course is especially designed to include significant amounts of hands-on practice and collaborative learning. The class includes EMS-approved Pediatric First Aid for Child Care Providers.
A course designed for almost everyone, CPR/AED for the Community & Workplace will provide the necessary emergency care knowledge and skills for families, organizations, businesses, babysitters, schools and anyone else in the community. Participants will learn to recognize and alleviate airway obstructions, the proper use of safety equipment, the use of an AED, signs and symptoms of stroke, heart attacks, as well as other vitals skills. With a special emphasis on hands-on practice, participants will become adept at CPR & AED procedures, choking rescues, and use of barrier devices.
This course, designed for any healthcare professional, is similar to the Community & Workplace course except that it includes additional training in physiology, 2 rescuer CPR, the use of medical equipment, and advanced obstructed airway management. With a special emphasis on hands-on practice, students will become adept at CPR & AED procedures, choking rescues, and use of barrier devices.
